Identify the required value
A URL can include a scheme, domain, path and parameters. A full post URL differs from a domain input. Check the example before manually transforming an address.
An IP is not a person
A technical address does not establish a user’s identity. One address may be involved in different infrastructure relationships. Do not turn an IP result into a claim about a person or their current location.
Associations change
Website infrastructure and addresses can change. Observation time and provenance help interpretation. Without them, do not assume a returned domain-to-IP relationship is current.
